Following last week’s complacent performance against Banbridge, the 14As took to the pitch with much more determination this weekend. From the outset the speed of attack and execution proved a challenge for Rainey as Wallace touched down for the first score of the game within minutes of the Kick-off. Whittaker quickly added a second followed by Curry and Wallace again with Hinchliffe taking the conversion points to leave them 31 -0 up at half time.
The second half continued in the same vein as Whitton, Balfour, Little and Pattison came off the bench all announcing their presence with ‘gusto’. Gamble had a great game with dominant running and much improved offloads to support runners, whilst the try of the game went to man of the match Harry McKenzie from a perfectly timed cross-field kick by Hinchliffe. In the end the ERGS lads came away with a convincing victory and are to be commended on their discipline and determination to improve on last week’s performance.
