On Saturday, Sophia Williams made her Irish debut as part of the Junior girls team running in a the Schools International cross country race at Santry, Dublin.
Sophia qualified as part of the Irish team with a recent ninth place at the All Ireland Schools in Clongowes Wood, Dublin. As a result of her placing she was selected for the Irish team to run the short, fast 3km cross country race against the top athletes from English, Welsh and Scottish schools. Whilst the English dominated the event, Sophia had a great race crossing the line in a very fast time of 11.23 and a top 30 placing.
