The year 8 and 9 girls travelled to Cookstown on Saturday in their last competitive league game of the season. The Year 8s were very unfortunate to concede late goals in their 2:0 defeat but there were many positives. Eva Howe was outstanding in goals while the performance from the team overall was most encouraging.
The Year 9s have only suffered one defeat all season and were determined to record a victory in this game. From start to finish, the Enniskillen girls dominated and ran out 6: 1 winners. Leah Irwin was in fine form, scoring four but the foundation for such a result was the performance of a solid back four. Ruby Cobain, Ella Forsythe, Mia Deane and Faith Phair were secure in the knowledge that goalkeeper Hannah O’Connor Burke was taking complete control of her area. Annabelle Morrison and Faith Gould provided excellent service from midfield. Coaching continues on Saturday mornings at the Bawnacre, Irvinestown from 10 am – 11:30am.
