Well done to our senior boys who competed at the Ulster Senior Sevens today and won the Shield Competition.
After a long bus trip the boys were very slow to start and lost group games against Larne, BRA and Sullivan, all only by a single score.
Despite the loses the boys rallied to defeat Friends 31-0 in the Shield quarter final. Next up was a rematch against Larne and the boys took the chance to exact their revenge, running out 26-14 victors.
The final pitted ERGS against Ballyclare and the teams could not be separated. A full time score of 17-17 sent the game into extra time and golden point. It didn’t take long for ERGS to strike with Shane Hoy slicing through the Ballyclare defence to run in the winning score from 40m.
A super end to the competition and just reward for their hard work throughout the season. Well done lads!!
