Over the past couple of weeks, Year 8 and Year 9 Netball squads have been busy preparing for their respective Netball Blitzes.
On 27th February our teams travelled over to St Fanchea’s college during Games/after school. There, our Year 9’s competed extremely well against the opposition. The squad was able to show its depth as we fielded two full teams against the St Fanchea’s girls. We came away with success, putting up a score of 16-11.
For our Year 8 girls – again we fielded two full squads against the St Fanchea’s Team. The talent we were able to showcase was super and all the girls did themselves proud. ERGS won 9-1.
The following day, we moved venues to the forum. Here, our Year 9 Teams played against Devenish College in after school friendly. Once again, our girls had the upper hand and played very strongly in their usual positions and indeed out of them! Final score was 12-1 to the Red Team and 10-0 to the green Team.
Friday saw out a week of Netball for all the girls when we travelled to Fivemiletown to play friendlies against the College’s Year 8 and Year 9 teams. There was super play from both of our teams showing just how much they had improved as a result of their previous matches. The Year 9 girls won 20-3 and the Year 8 girls won 16-1.
