On Saturday past, 83 members of Enniskillen Royal Boat Club set off for Lagan Scullers Head. The day proved to be a success with wins from ERBC crews in all 3 races of the day. The day was a challenging experience for the younger members of the club as the wind was not always in their favour. In the first race the MJ16 2x of Lewis Nixon and Tim Murphy won their class against 8 other crews and finished 5 overall in their race. MJ15 4x+ Coxed by Keeva Corry and stroked by Harry Bell also claimed victory over a competitive 4 other crews in their category. MJ14 4x+ (cox, Georgia Maxwell) stroked by Marcus Davis-Kunze defeated Bann. In the second race of the day Joshua Timoney and Ben Corrigan in the MJ18 2x won over 5 other crews. Luke Paton in the MJ15 1x beat Sinclair of Bann by an impressive 25 seconds. In the 3rd and final race of the day the MJ18 4x- stroked by Lewis Nixon, backed up by Joshua Timoney, Tim Murphy and Ben Corrigan came 2nd overall after winning against RBAI in their class. Finally, the WJ14 4x+ (cox, Grace Ralph) of Keeva Corry, Sophie Stewart, Scarlett Keys and Erin Crawford came 1st after defeating 3 separate crews in their class. After Saturday, the racing season ahead is looking very promising.
