ERBC had 8 crews racing at Belfast Sprints on Saturday in glorious sunshine. The crews were made up of predominantly Year 9 rowers who only started rowing last September. The rowers all performed well, coming away with 4 wins over the course of the day.
WJ14 4X+ A – Emily Stewart, Madeline Curran, Nicole Graham, Sally Huang and Jacob Woods (cox) had a great win over the crew from Grammar School by 0.5 lengths
The MJ14 4X+ A Reece Brady, Adam Bullock, Luke Fivey and Lewis Coalter were coxed by Sally Huang who was coxing for the first time. They had a win over Coleraine GS A by a distance.
MJ14 4X+ C Harry McCreery, Noah Corrigan, Jacob Johnny, Eli Irvine and cox Shane O’Donnell beat the boys from Coleraine GS by 1 length.
MJ15 2X Jacob Woods and Shane O’Donnell finished off a successful day with their 2nd medals of the events taking the win over Portadown BC by a distance.
ERBC are off to compete at National Schools Regatta this weekend with 12 crews competing over 3 days against the biggest rowing schools in the UK and Ireland.
