This year’s Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award group successfully completed their Gold expedition last week. Their 4 day adventure took them from the bottom of Lower Lough Erne near Belleek across the Fermanagh countryside to the top of Cuilcagh Mountain. Wet and misty conditions did not deter this motivated group of pupils. As has been a common theme with this year’s group throughout their training, they took it all in their stride and rose to every challenge they met.
These highly determined, enthusiastic pupils walked over 80km whilst climbing to the top of the 4 peaks which represent the 4 School houses… Belmore, Benaughlin, Trien and Cuilcagh.
Their leaders were impressed with the positive attitude, enthusiasm, commitment and ability to work as part of a team which the groups displayed throughout all the training weekends and expedition.
Well done to everyone on their great achievement.
