An incredible day of inter-house competition held on Algeo Drive with year 8, 9 and 10 pupils competing in inter-house Rounders, Basketball, Netball, Football, Table-Tennis and Rowing. In total, 1760 house points were awarded throughout the day and added to the house point Totalometer ahead of tomorrow's Sports Day at Cooper Crescent.

Despite the number of points awarded, it still remains incredibly close in this year's competition.

    Belmore - 2540 points
    Benaughlin - 2538 points
    Cuilcagh - 2549 points
    Trien - 2448 points.

With only 11 points separating first and third place, tomorrow's ‘grand final’ of Sports Day promises to be an exciting competition, with all to play for in order to win this year’s House Cup.

A huge well done to all pupils who participated and a massive thank you to all those staff who organised and facilitated today's competitions.

ERBC's First Eights travelled to Cork Regatta yesterday and both the girls and the boys came away with the J18A 8+ category wins.

After a fantastic heat the girls crew of Claire Walsh, Isabella Wright, Naomi Robinson, Clodagh Donaghy, Zara Welsh, Emily Black, Meabh Murphy, Hannah Armstrong and cox Jessica Thompson were the only J18 eight to make the A final beating crews from University College Dublin, University of Limerick and University of Galway.
In the final they covered the 2km course in a time of 7.29.9 to take 1st place in the J18 category and 3rd overall in the Division 1 Eights.

The boys crew of Evan Donaghy, Ryan Topping, Christian Timoney, Andrew Cuthbertson, Luke Bailey, Andries Ferreira, Cillian Donaghy, Austin Cassidy and cox Abbey Wilson won the J18 category over the crews from St Joseph's, Neptune RC, St Michael's RC and Col Iognaid. They finished in a time of 6.34.3.
Thanks to the coaches and parents who travelled to Cork with the rowers.

Both crews head to Henley this Thursday having prequalified to compete at Henley Royal Regatta which starts on Tuesday, 30th June.

The junior crews will take part in the 1k Classic at Lough Rinn next weekend.
