Over the last few months a select group of year 10 pupils have been taking part in the Lidl Youth Sport Programme. This involved a sports mentor (Mr Eugene Magee, former Irish International Hockey Captain) coming into school to coach and educate the pupils and discuss how they can work on their own mental health and wellbeing, providing tips for them to achieve their potential and set personal goals.
As part of this pupils had to organise an event for their peers. After much discussion it was decided that they would organise a water fight and book an assault course for the rest of the year 10 pupils. The event was a success as everyone was drenched from head to toe. Everyone then enjoyed an ice cream to finish the day.
Taking part in this event has meant that the school now has £1000 to spend on sports equipment that will benefit everyone in ERGS.
