Earlier this month, year 14 pupil and UK Youth Parliament representative for Fermanagh and South Tyrone, Richard Edwards, balloted young people across the region to gain their views of the key priorities for young people across the UK in 2018-19. The results were released today and Richard was very pleased to tell us that the number of votes in Fermanagh and South Tyrone was 3,986 young people. This is the highest constituency turnout in the last 4 years, the 2nd highest turn out in Northern Ireland and 14th in the UK.

Richard is now looking forward to his visit to the UK Youth Parliament in the House of Commons on the 9th of November. where he will get to champion the views of young people from Fermanagh and South Tyrone. Each issue will be discussed within the chamber on Friday 9th November during the UK Youth Parliament’s eighth sitting in the House of Commons. This years debate is due to be chaired by John Bercow MP, Speaker of the House of Commons who has chaired every Youth Parliment debate in the House of Commons since their first sitting in 2009.
