    School Council

    By Enniskillen Royal | Latest News | Comments are Closed | 11 November, 2022 | 0

A meeting of the newly elected School Council took place on Wednesday 9th November at 2pm in the Assembly Hall on Cooper Crescent with a very impressive turn out.  Mr Beddard and Mrs Kettyle were very ably assisted by Dale Clendinning & Jonathan McBride (Year 14) in their positions of Chairperson and Secretary, respectively.

The purpose and organisation of the Council was outlined as well as the sharing of our Code of Conduct and Strapline of Mutare Ad Melius which is Latin for Change for the Better.  Election of officers took place before Mrs Kettyle launched the main project for this term which is the Operation Christmas Child Shoe Box Appeal.  An update was provided on the Period Dignity Scheme and on the newly established Wellbeing Rooms, with pupil views being sought on the use and organisation of this new pastoral resource. School attendance and respect for school property was addressed by Mr Beddard with pupil views being gathered on both issues.

Under ‘Any Other Business’, opportunity was given to capture pupil voice on issues raised by the pupils in each Tutor Group with their School Council Representative.  The issues presented by the Reps will be addressed by the Council during 2022-23.

The next meeting will take place in December.
