ERGS seniors started their blitz against Limavady. It was a comprehensive win with the team settling well and playing from the whistle. The structure and paddock moves were implemented well which was rewarding for the coaches to watch. Tries by Jade Ballantyne (3) Zara Flack (2) Jessica Elliott and India Daly.
Round two was against Magh Ene and with the score at 6-0 at half time the entire team was changed giving the whole squad much needed match experience. This was a first for some of our subs and they acquitted themselves admirably. Tries by Jade Ballantyne (4) Zara Flack and Sophie Coalter.
Topping our pool we now played the winners of the other pools and first up was Monaghan. For several minutes the score was 1-1 but a very physical Monaghan side soon ran in several tries finishing with a 6-1 win. This was a great learning experience for the girls as the physicality will rack up again in Dublin. Try scored by Zara Flack.
Our last game was against pool winners Dungannon. After a very physical battle against Monaghan the girls stepped up again superbly playing excellent rugby in an evenly balanced match and again the girls showed great skills which several opposing team coaches complimented them on. The 4-2 win finished the day nicely. Tries by Sophie Coalter (2) Jade Ballantyne and India Daly.
