On Tuesday last our ERGS Year 11 Netball squad played their annual Fermanagh Netball Blitz Tournament. This was held at the forum and was attended by 5 schools in total – Fivemiletown College, St Kevins Lisnaskea, Erne Integrated College, St Fanchea’s College and ourselves.
The standard of netball was quite high from all the schools. It proved to be a hard-fought competition that went right down to the last game to decide 2nd and 3rd positions. The score lines did not always do justice to the standard of play from the teams.
Final results were St Kevin’s – 1st, Fivemiletown – 2nd and St Fanchea’s – 3rd. Our consolation prize was that we beat the winning team in our last match. With some solid work on our aggression in attack and our presence on the court, we will show them a much stronger team next year.
