Tuesday 23rd April saw our Year 8s take to the courts for their final outing of this season. Six teams took part in the blitz: St Fanchea’s; St. Aidan’s, Derrylin; St. Kevin’s, Lisnaskea; Enniskillen Royal; Erne Integrated and Fivemiletown College.
We played each of the schools in a Round Robin Tournament with our results being:
ERGS vs Erne Integrated: 7-1 Win
ERGS vs St Kevin’s: 4-0 Win
ERGS vs St. Fanchea’s: 2-0 Win
ERGS vs St Aidans 4-4 Draw
ERGS vs Fivemiletown College: 11-0 Win
Having won 4 games and a draw against the eventual winners St Aidan’s, it went down to goal difference. Unfortunately, we missed out by the finest of margins. Final placings were: St Aidan’s 1st, ERGS 2nd and St Kevin’s 3rd.
The girls should be very proud of their superb performance across the court, showing great determination, motivation, attitude, teamwork and skill throughout the day. A great end to what has been an excellent learning journey for the girls and their coaches. Congratulations to them all….we look forward to next season.
