Year 8 pupil Adam Read and his brother had been digging recently in their back garden in Tullyhomman, near Pettigo when they came across a number of cannon balls and musket balls, all in good condition. They informed the Ulster museum who examined them. Mr Hall and the pupils from 8F were delighted to see these items and to have been able to hold the cannon ball which weighs about two stone weight!
It is a bit of a mystery why they were buried in a garden but a little bit of history from centuries ago has been brought alive thanks to the Read brothers’!
