On the afternoon of Friday 22nd September, the outstanding level of success achieved this year by the Enniskillen Royal Grammar School Boat Club was recognised in a special event at Enniskillen Castle Museum where the Chairman of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Stephen McCann, presented Mr Holland with a very fine trophy to mark this unprecedented level of success.
He spoke of the five medals the rowers brought home from the British National Schools’ Regatta competing against the top schools in the UK. He spoke too of the 11 Irish titles won by the Club at the Irish Rowing Championships. This is truly a remarkable level of success. However, none of this would happen without the dedication of Mr Holland and his team of coaches, the commitment of the pupils who train day in and day out and the support of their parents in so many different ways.
