ERBC’s girls had a very successful trip to Henley Womens Regatta this weekend, finishing in the top 8 crews in the very prestigious event which attracts entries from all across the world. Overall they were very pleased with their performance over the weekend, delighted to finish in the top 12 in their time trial. They had a great race against Green Lake Crew from USA yesterday and crossed the finish line first after leading from the start. The crew of Niamh Campbell, Laura Turner, Acorn Cassidy, Katie Donnelly, Aine McCaffrey, Chloe Thompson, Martha McBrien, Rachel Cullinan and cox Grace Ralph gained lots of invaluable experience this weekend as they move forward into the last stages of preparation for Henley Royal Regatta which starts in 9 days time. To finish in the top 8 crews in such a prestigious event is fantastic for ERBC and the girls and coaches should be very proud indeed.
Mr Holland said ‘They are committed young women who don’t make excuses or run away from challenges. They have put themselves out there consistently against top international crews”
Many thanks to Sonja Cassidy and Mr Holland who travelled to Henley with the girls, thanks to everyone who sent messages of good luck and supported them from home. Both the girls and boys first eights will head off next weekend to compete at Henley Royal Regatta which starts on Tuesday, 28th
