ERBC had a great day at Irish Indoor Championships at University of Limerick with 10 rowers making the trip this weekend.
Acorn Cassidy is the WJ18 _ 500m Irish Indoor Champion after beating the Irish Record for the 2nd time in 2 weeks. There was also a fantastic 3rd place in the WJ18 2K for Acorn with a great PB 7.07.2
Joshua Ihnat, the youngest of our rowers to travel to Limerick won the MJ14 500 m Sprint in a time of 1.30.2 5 seconds faster than the competition.
There were 2 silver medals for Luke Bailey in MJ15 covering 1497m in 5 minutes and in the 500m sprint in a time of 1.29.9.
George Kernaghan won bronze in the MJ16 2K in a great time of 6.42.9 and another bronze in the 500m sprint in a time of 1.29.5
The boys relay of Luke Bailey, Evan Donaghy, Austin Cassidy and Andrew Cuthbertson won silver in the MTY4 event.
Zara Welsh had a great first indoor championship narrowly missing out on the medals in her 2 very competitive events. She came 5th in the WJ15 5 mins and then went a step closer to the podium with a 4th place finish in the WJ15_500 m sprint in the afternoon.
Austin Cassidy finished in a fantastic 5th place in the MJ15 5 minute event with a distance of 1435m and 8th in the 1000m in a time of 3.24.2.
Ryan Topping had a great event with 2 Top 10 finishes in his two individual events, 6th in the MJ15 5 minutes and 10th in the 500 m out of 48 rowers.
Andrew Cuthbertson finished in the Top 10 in the 2 events that he competed in 7th in the MJ15 1000m and 8th in the 500m.
Evan Donaghy was 5th in the 1000m and 7th in the 500 m sprint.
Bruno Maguire Favro had a great trip to UL with 2 top 20 finishes in the 1000m and the 500m, well done Bruno.
